www.chinaview.cn 2006-03-20 16:21:03

MOSCOW, March 20 (Xinhua) -- The International Space Station (ISS) crew members have begun an operation to re-dock the Soyuz spacecraft from one module of the station to another to make space for a new spaceship's arrival next week, the Itar-Tass news agency reported Monday.

The Soyuz TMA-7 spaceship steered by Russian cosmonaut Valery Tokarev detached from the Zarya functional-cargo bay at 09:49(0649GMT).

NASA astronaut William McArthur helped to control the operation of the spacecraft systems.

A Soyuz capsule carrying a Russian, an American and Brazil's first astronaut is scheduled to lift off from the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on March 30 and arrive at the station two days later. Enditem
