MOSCOW, March 19 (Xinhua) -- All passengers aboard
a moving train which was hit by a section of collapsing tunnel in Moscow subway
on Sunday have been safely evacuated, the Russian Emergencies Ministry said.
"All the passengers have been evacuated. The evacuation is complete. There were no casualties," said
Viktor Beltsov, a spokesman from the ministry.
He added that two groups of workers in the tunnel
were clearingup the rubble.
Earlier, reports said the collapse had sparked a
blaze in the train. But officials from the ministry were quoted by Russian
newsagencies as saying there had been no fire.
The train was traveling near the Voikovskaya station
in the northwest of the capital when the incident occurred, possibly as aresult
of maintenance works on a street above, according to Russian news agencies.
