BAGHDAD, March 18 (Xinhua) -- Six suspected murderers of an Iraqi female correspondent and two of her colleagues working for the Dubai-based Arabiya television have been arrested, the Arabic news channel reported on Saturday.

"The six terrorists who killed the Iraqi television crew will be put on public on TV today or tomorrow," the channel quoted a statement issued by the Iraqi defense minister Saadoun al-Dulaimi as saying.

It said the suspects were arrested during the ongoing joint U.S. -Iraqi major offensive of "Operation Swarmer" in the area north of Samarra which begun early Thursday.

Atwar Bahjat was kidnapped and killed along with her two colleagues on Feb. 22 when they were on the way to cover the shrine attack in Samarra, some 120 km north of Baghdad. Enditem
