¡¡¡¡Special Report: Milosevic found dead at The Hague detention center

    BRUSSELS, March 17 (Xinhuanet) -- Tests have shown no sign of poisoning nor the unprescribed antibiotic rifampicin in the body of former Yugoslav president Slobodan Milosevic, the UN war crimes tribunal said in a report on Friday.

    "No evidence of poisoning has been found," the president of the UN tribunal, Fausto Pocar, told a news conference, adding that they were provisional results.

    Tests also showed no indication of rifampicin, a medicine that could have negated the effect of Milosevic's high blood pressure drugs, said the tribunal president.

    Milosevic, 64, was found dead last Saturday in his cell at the UN detention unit in Scheveningen near The Hague. His heart problems and high blood pressure had repeatedly interrupted his trial in The Hague.

    Preliminary findings from a nearly eight-hour autopsy showed that Milosevic had died of a heart attack, the UN tribunal said on Sunday evening. Enditem
