BANGKOK, March 16 (Xinhuanet) -- Thailand's Royal Army chief Sonthi Boonyaratkalin admitted Thursday that he concerned about the high tense political situation but the Army would keep neutral and would not take any actions without order from the caretaker government.

The Army chief also said that he had asked military to keep in patience, which is the best way to avoid violence. He also believed that to be neutral would bring about the ultimate benefit to the country.

As to the possibility of Emergency State declaration, Gen. Sonthi told Xinhua that he didn't believe it was time to declare Emergency State situation because it was very low probabilities of confrontation between the cabinet and the protesters.

Moreover, both groups were doing their best to avoid violence. In his opinion, declaration of Emergency State would not help or make the situation better, said the general.

Anyway, government had full authority to announce Emergency State. In case there was Emergency State announcement, Army would have to do so without any comment. It was because these were their duties, Sonthi added.

On Thursday morning, all top braces in Thai Armed Force were gathering together for a top secret meeting. The participants included chiefs of the Royal Thai Army, the Royal Thai Air Force, the Royal Thai Navy and the National Police, and famous Thai top braces, both on duty and those who were already retired.
