UNITED NATIONS, March 14 (Xinhuanet) -- The latest UN report probing the murder of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri showed on Tuesday that Syria has been providing improved cooperation to the investigation.
"The Syria government has ... formally complied with nearly all of the Commission's previous request for assistance," said the report, issued by the UN International Independent Investigation Commission (UNIIIC) led by Serge Brammertz of Belgium.
The Commission has laid the ground work with the Syrian authorities for improved cooperation based on framework set out by the relevant Security Council resolutions, said the report, which is the third of its kind since the beginning of the investigation last April. Enditem |
