MANILA, March 14 (Xinhuanet) -- Philippine boxing champion Manny Pacquiao Tuesday failed anew to show up in a preliminary investigation on the case filed against him by a former lover of his, who claimed to have borne a baby for him but did not receive any financial support from him.

Pacquiao's legal counsel appeared before the office of a QuezonCity public prosecutor and filed a counter-affidavit on behalf of his client.

In his counter-affidavit, Pacquiao vehemently denied all the accusations by the woman, saying he never failed to give financial support to her even though he does not know of the child's real father.

He said that the woman even admitted having a boyfriend during the time they were seeing each other in 2003.

"I gave her financial support more than enough to the child's needs," said Pacquiao, admitting he stopped sending money when the child was born.

Pacquiao also denied the accusation that he made threats about kidnapping the child.

Meanwhile, the child's DNA test was postponed after doctors said that the boxing champ also need to undergo the DNA test.

Doctors from St. Luke's Hospital in Quezon City said sample spicemen from Pacquiao, the woman and the child are required to conduct the DNA test. Enditem
