"The findings of the investigation indicate that such type of grenade cannot be possessed by individuals, and added that there are indisputable evidences that the grenades were smuggled into the country from Eritrea," it said.

"The propaganda campaign unleashed by Sha'ebia and its allies as of late clearly indicate that they have fallen pray to miscalculations as to the perceptions of the Ethiopian people."

The statement further said that Sha'ebia and its allies are "desperately trying to create a breach of thrust and confidence between the people and the Ethiopian government through the dissemination of false propaganda."

However, it said the Ethiopian people have been demonstrating their resolve to fight against terrorism by working closely with security forces.

Several tips have been coming in from the public, which the statement said, are highly valuable to the ongoing efforts to bring the culprits to justice.
