BAGHDAD, March 11 (Xinhuanet) -- U.S. and Iraqi forces launched a joint raid in west Baghdad from late Friday to early Saturday, and captured eight suspected insurgents.

    Four of the captured militants were suspected as al-Qaida members, the U.S. military said in a statement on Saturday. The raid took place at the Sunni al-Khayr mosque complex in the most violent Khadhra area of Baghdad on late Friday.

    Iraqi forces led the operation and captured four suspects, and four others were detained at other sites during the same operation, the U.S. military said.    Enditem
