UNITED NATIONS, March 8 (Xinhuanet) -- Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Wednesday that Russia would welcome EU's proposal on continuous talks on the contentious Iranian nuclear program.

Lavrov told reporters at UN Headquarters in New York that "the EU troika suggested to continue consultations in Vienna with participation of Russia, the United States, China, Director-General (of the IAEA), and the Iranians."

"If the proposal is indeed on the table, we would welcome it," he noted. Enditem
