NEW DELHI, March 8 (Xinhuanet) -- Indian Police shot dead two alleged terrorists of the Lashker-e-Taiba (LeT) and recovered arms and explosives Wednesday, Indo-Asian News Service reported.

The police said the shooting took place in the Bawana area of west Delhi. The two men were wanted in several attacks in Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh.

One of them named Ghulam Yazdani was the mastermind of explosions in Gujarat and Hyderabad. The identity of the second terrorist is not yet known, the police said.

The police had recovered explosives including an AK 56 gun and several rounds of live cartridges from the terrorists.

"We are investigating their motive," said Karnail Singh, joint commissioner, Special Cell, Delhi Police.

Indian holy city Varanasi in neighboring Uttar Pradesh was hit on Tuesday evening by three serial blasts, killing 21 people and injuring 62 others. Enditem
