ADDIS ABABA, March 7 (Xinhuanet) -- Three explosions struck the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa at lunch time on Tuesday, injuring four people and causing slight property damage, police said.

Police said in a statement that one explosion occurred in Lalibela Restaurant in front of the Addis Ababa Stadium in Kirkos sub-city around 12:10 a.m. (0910 GMT), injuring two women and two men in the restaurant and nearby.

The explosion cracked the walls and slightly shattered windows and the main gate of the restaurant.

Similarly, the other explosion occurred behind a bus station inAddis Ketema sub-city, causing minor damages on two container shops, police said, adding that it caused no human casualties.

A third explosion occurred at a cafeteria of the Hotels and Tourism Training Institute around the bustling Mexico area at 3:15p.m. (1215 GMT), slightly damaging windows of a city bus, which was parked nearby.

The statement said the explosions were the plot of anti-peace elements to mar peace in the city.

It said police remained on alert and are investigating the cases, while urging the public to remain vigilant of anti-peace elements and work together with police to put under control those people "engaged in such deplorable activities."

Police are tracing those elements involved in such destructive activities and would let the public know the final result, according to the statement. Enditem
