NEW DELHI, March 7 (Xinhuanet) -- Two blasts rocked parts of Central Indian city Varanasi Tuesday, killing at least 12 people and injuring several others, New Delhi Television reported here.
The blasts occurred at a temple and the railway station in the holy city.The injured have been taken to hospital.
It is reported that senior officials of the administration reached the spot and cordoned off the area.
The first explosion took place outside the temple around 5:00 p.m. when a large number of devotees were present.
Minutes later another blast took place at the railway station.
The Sankat Mochan temple, where the blast occurred, is situatedon the Durgakund road, and is among the country's most ancient temples.
