CAIRO, March 7 (Xinhuanet) -- A video tape aired by al-Jazeera TV showed on Tuesday that four activists of a Christian peace group kidnapped in Iraq were pleading for their release.

   The silent tape showed that the hostages of Christian Peacemaker asked their governments and Gulf leaders to help secure their release, according to the Qatar-based pan-Arab TV channel.

   Two Canadians, an American and a Briton working for the group were kidnapped in Iraq last November.

   The previously unknown Swords of Righteousness Brigades had claimed responsibility for the kidnapping. Enditem
