BAGHDAD, March 6 (Xinhuanet) -- A car bomb rocked central Baghdad on Monday morning, injuring three people, an Interior Ministry source told Xinhua.

"The bomb blew off at around 10:10 a.m. (0710 GMT) near the Higher Education and Science Research Ministry," he said.

The attack came shortly after a police patrol was hit by a car bomb in northern Baghdad, which injured four people including a policeman.

Monday morning was marked by a string of car bombing attacks in and near Baghdad.

A car bomb attack killed five people and wounded several others in Baquba, some 60 km northeast of Baghdad. Enditem
