DHAKA, March 5 (Xinhuanet) -- Five persons were killed and over 100 others wounded as a tornado swept through six villages in southwestern Bagerhat district Saturday night, private television channel Ntv reported Sunday.

    According to Ntv, four people were killed due to house collapse and one person died following a lightning in the six villages, which were leveled by the one-and-half-minute tornado.

    The television said the tornado also flattened hundreds of houses, trees and electric polls and damaged crops on farm lands.

    The television said the injured persons were sent to different hospitals of the district. Enditem
