NEW YORK, March 3 (Xinhuanet) -- Research In Motion Ltd. said on Friday it has signed a definitive settlement agreement with NTP Inc., which will allow it to maintain its BlackBerry service in the United States, local media reported.

"All terms of the agreement have been finalized and the litigation against RIM has been dismissed by a court order this afternoon," the Canadian company said in a statement.

RIM has paid NTP 612.5 million US dollars in a "full and final settlement of all claims," the companies said. Enditem
