BEIJING, March 2 (Xinhuanet) -- People's Daily, the leading newspaper in China, will carry on Friday an editorial which hails the opening of the Fourth Session of the 10th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), or the top advisory body.

ĦĦĦĦTo hold the session successfully is of great significance for further pushing forward the country's opening and reform practice and modernization process, it says, adding that this is an opportunity to pool the wisdom of the people and promote China's development in a scientific way

2006 is the first year for the implementation of China's 11th Five-Year Program and it is CPPCC's glorious duty to help make the starting year a successful one, says the editorial.

The CPPCC should take promoting China's development as the first job in performing its functions, it says. Enditem
