Protests underway against Bush's visit to India

    NEW DELHI, March 1 (Xinhuanet) -- Protests are being held in various parts of India against the visit of U.S. President George W. Bush to the country later Wednesday, New Delhi Television reported.

    Bush is due to arrive here Wednesday evening for a three-day visit.

    Left parties in the country and certain Muslim groups are holding protests in East Indian state of West Bengal.

    In Delhi's Ramlila grounds, thousands of people have assembled in a rally organized by a Muslim group Jamiat Ulema i Hind, to protest the Bush visit.
