www.chinaview.cn 2006-03-01 18:50:38

BEIJING, March 1 (Xinhuanet) -- Jia Qinglin, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), has urged top advisors to contribute to the country's strategy of sustainable development.

Jia, a member of the Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee Political Bureau, made the remark at Wednesday's workshop of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee.

The CPPCC, which is a pool of experts and scholars from different circles, should contribute to the country's sustainable development strategy, he said, following a report by Niu Wenyuan, China's leading scientist in the study of the strategy.

In his speech, Jia said CPPCC members at all levels should make full use of their own resources, make in-depth studies, and give their suggestions and proposals for the Party and the government to make decisions. Enditem
