BEIJING, Feb. 27 (Xinhuanet) -- The State Environmental Protection
Administration (SEPA) and the Ministry of Supervision will supervise probes into
four major environmental pollution cases this year, the two agencies announced
here Monday.
The four cases are:
The authorities of districts and counties under the jurisdiction of Xinzhou
City in north China's Shanxi Province promulgated local policies and regulations
which voilate China's environmental laws and regulations;
Manganese pollution in the border area between the provinces of Guizhou and
Hunan and Chongqing Municipality;
The environmental damage caused by the Baimei Paper Enterprise in Yuzhong
County in northwest China's Gansu Province; and
Hailin Xueyuan Distillery recently released pollutants to the Mudanjiang
River in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province. Enditem
