PARIS, Feb. 26 (Xinhuanet) -- Paris began to hold the international winter fashion shows on Sunday for eight days after Milan wrapped up its catwalk shows on Saturday.
Some 100 French and foreign fashion houses for ready-to-wear womens wear collections for 2006-07 were expected to be showed till March 5.
Highlights will be given to new faces, besides big marks, such as Chanel, Christian Dior, Yves Saint Laurent and Christian Lacroix.
Italian designer Miuccia Prada will present her younger Miu Miuline in Paris for the first time after years of showing in Milan.
Former Paco Rabanne designer Christophe Decarnin will also present his debut collection for Balmain, while Jean-Charles de Castelbajac returns after a four-season absence.
Chloe will unveil its first collection since Phoebe Philo's resignation in January, and there is a new face at Emanuel Ungaro where Norwegian Peter Dundas replaces Vincent Darre.
Greek-German Nicolas Andreas Taralis, former assistant to Dior's Hedi Slimane, is expected to make his first appearance on the official line-up. Enditem
