BAGHDAD, Feb. 25 (Xinhuanet) -- People taking the body of killed Al-Arabiya journalist to a cemetery were attacked again in western Baghdad on Saturday with several security men killed, an Al-Arabiya correspondent at the scene said on television.
"After we buried Atwar Bahjat, we were attacked by a roadside bomb 500 meters away from the cemetery. Several member of security forces were killed and some others injured," he said on the Al-Arabiya channel.
"We are now asking for help from Iraqi police to save us," he appealed on TV.
This is the second attack just hours after unidentified gunmen attacked people, who took the body of the famous female Al-Arabiya journalist Atwar Bahjat on the way to the cemetery.
Local police sources said so far at least four people have died in the two attacks, but other sources said the two attacks have resulted in seven deaths.
During an earlier attack, one was killed and four others wounded.
Bahjat, a famous female Iraqi television journalist working for the Dubai-based Al-Arabiya television, was killed with two members of her crew on Wednesday when they were on the way to cover the shrine attack in Samarra, some 120 km north of Baghdad. Enditem |
