SHANGHAI, Feb. 25 (Xinhuanet) -- Elizabeth II, the world's oldest ocean liner still in service, is expected to visit Shanghai in March, sources with the city's Waigaoqiao Exit and Entry Quarantine Station has said.

The deluxe liner, belonging to the British shipping company Cunard Line, started its maiden trip in late 1960s. It is 293.52 meters long, about 30 meters wide, and as tall as a 12-storey building. It is capable of carrying 1,791 passengers and 921 crew members.

Equipped with the biggest ship engine in the world, the liner is also dubbed the world's largest and best trans-Atlantic vessel. It has 950 rooms as well as such recreational facilities as golf course, swimming pool, library and theater.

The source said the number of luxury passenger liners to visit Shanghai this year is expected to exceed last year's 25.

In March alone, eight deluxe vessels will visit the biggest port city in China and the first one in a row is scheduled to arrive on March 2. Enditem
