CAIRO, Feb. 21 (Xinhuanet) -- Egyptian Transport Minister Mohamed Mansour on Tuesday announced that the black box from an Egyptian ferry that sank in the Red Sea and left some 1,000 people dead was recovered.

The black box of Al Salaam 98 cruiser was recovered with the help of two International Maritime Organization experts from France and Britain, Mansour said, quoted by the official MENA news agency.

The black box of doomed ship would be analyzed in Britain, he added.

The ship, carrying 1,414 people, including crew, went down in the Red Sea on Feb. 3 on a trip from Saudi Arabia to Egypt. Only some 387 passengers survived the disaster. Enditem
