Strong earthquake jolts southern Iran

    TEHRAN, Feb. 18 (Xinhuanet) -- A strong earthquake measuring 5.9 on the Richter scale hit southern Iranian province of Kerman on Saturday, state media reported.

    The official Islamic Republic News Agency said the earthquake occurred at 1103 GMT in Rafsanjan in Kerman, some 750 kilometers southeast of the capital Tehran.

    So far, no casualties or damage were reported from the quake. Enditem
