BAGHDAD, Feb. 18 (Xinhuanet) -- The U.S. military said a U.S. soldier was killed in a roadside bomb attack in eastern Baghdad on Saturday.
"The soldier, assigned to the Multi-National Division-Baghdad, was killed when a roadside bomb struck a U.S. military vehicle at about 8 a.m. (0500 GMT) in eastern Baghdad," the military said in a statement.
Earlier in the day, a police source said a roadside bomb detonated near the al-Shaab stadium when a U.S. patrol passed by, killing a U.S. soldier and wounding another.
The latest death brought the toll of U.S. military personnel in Iraq to more than 2,270 since the U.S.-led invasion in March 2003. Enditem |
