HEFEI, Feb. 17 (Xinhuanet) -- The Pakistani military
airplane carrying the remains of three Chinese engineers killed in Pakistan will
postpone its arrival in Hefei, the capital of eastern China's Anhui Province
because of mechanical failure.
The airplane reached Urumqi, capital of northwestern China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Friday
afternoon from Karachi. It was originally scheduled to arrive in Hefei late in
the evening.
The three Chinese engineers, Long Hongbao, Wei
Jianpin and Zhao Bin, were shot to death Wednesday when their car was attacked
by gunmen on a road in the town of Hub, some 700 km southeast of Quetta, the
Balochistan provincial capital, Pakistan. The three surviving Chinese
technicians were returning home at noon Friday along with seven other colleagues
working on the same project.
They were working for a Chinese company to prepare
equipment and offer technical services to a local cement factory in Pakistan,
the construction of which will be finished in the first half of this year.
