Cruise, Katie split? It's 100% false

BEIJING, Feb. 15 -- Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have denied a Valentine's Day report on the Life & Style magazine, which claimed the couple had split up and called off their wedding.

Under the headline "Split! And Katie's 7 months pregnant!", Life & Style magazine claimed the couple had scrapped their wedding.

"It should be known that the story is 100 per cent false," Arnold Robinson, a publicist for the couple, said in a statement.

"Mr Cruise and Ms Holmes are still engaged and are moving forward with their wedding plans, as well as planning for the arrival of their child."

"Despite the malicious fallacies put forth by Life & Style magazine, the couple is looking forward to a long and happy life together as a family," Robinson said.

The February 27 issue of the magazine, which will be on newsstands on Friday, said the couple "plan to keep up the charade of their romance until after their baby's birth this spring".

A representative for the magazine said the story was accurate, stating: "We stand 100 per cent behind our story."

In the article, the magazine quoted two unnamed friends of Cruise who said the couple's relationship had come to an end but that Tom and Katie "plan to keep up the charade of a romance until after their baby's birth this spring."

Another source was quoted in the magazine, saying that Tom and Katie "both agreed that the marriage wouldn't work and they wanted to end it before they learned to hate each other."

Holmes, 27, and Cruise, 43, have been engaged since June and announced the pregnancy in October.
