Saddam confirms hunger strike against bad treatment
www.chinaview.cn 2006-02-14 18:26:06

BAGHDAD, Feb. 14 (Xinhuanet) -- Former Iraqi president Saddam Hussein on Tuesday told the chief judge that he and his aides have been on hunger strike for three days.

"We have been on hunger strike for three days protesting the bad treatment from you and your leaders," Saddam told Raouf Rasheed Abdul Rahman, the chief judge.

Saddam and his codefendants were forced to attend the court and their defense team was discharged by the court.

The defense team in Jordan said on Sunday that Saddam and his codefendants were going on hunger strike but later denied their claim because "the information had been incorrect".  Enditem
