Saddam Hussein trial resumes in Baghdad
www.chinaview.cn 2006-02-14 17:20:21

BAGHDAD, Feb. 14 (Xinhuanet) -- The trial of Saddam Hussein and seven of his codefendants resumed on Tuesday as he appeared at the courtroom wearing black suit.

The defiant Saddam stood before chief judge Raouf Rasheed Abdul Rahman and shouted slogans supporting the Iraqi insurgents against U.S.-Iraqi troops.

"Long live Mujahedin (holy warriors)" and "God is the greatest", he shouted.

Saddam and his aides are facing charges over crimes against humanity, including the killing of over 140 Shiite countrymen in Dujail after a failed assassination attempt on Saddam in 1982. Enditem
