KABUL, Feb. 13 (Xinhuanet) -- One Afghan soldier was killed, nine others were injured Monday in three different bomb explosions in Afghanistan, Afghan officials said.
"This
afternoon at about 3 p.m. (1030 GMT) in Sawki district of the eastern Kunar
province, a remote-controlled bomb exploded as an ANA (Afghan National Army)
vehicle patrolling in the area was passing by. One ANA soldier was killed, five
others were injured,” Mohammad Hassan Farahi, the chief of intelligence service
of Kunartold Xinhua.
On the
same day, another bomb explosion happened in the northeastern Baghlan province,
injured three persons.
"Today
the vehicle of the highway police commander hit a bomb in new Baghlan city. The
explosion injured an officer and two bodyguards in the car, and the car was
destroyed, but the commander is safe," Haroon Ariaee, spokesperson of Baghlan
governor told Xinhua.
"Some
suspected person have been arrested because of the bomb explosion, and the
investigation is still going on," he added.
In
another bomb explosion on Monday, an Afghan National Army (ANA) soldier was
injured in Afghan capital Kabul, an Afghan official said.
"This
afternoon in the police district 6, Qala-e-Shirkhan area of Kabul, an ANA
vehicle hit a remote-controlled bomb explosion. One ANA soldier was injured,"
district chief of Kabul Gen. Haider told Xinhua.
"The bomb
was installed under a telephone pole, and was exploded when the vehicle was
passing by," he added.
Taliban militants, vowed to continue the holy war until the
withdrawal of all the foreign troops, intensified the attacks since early last
year, during which over 1,600 persons have been killed in the Taliban-linked
