Collision interrupts artery railway

    BEIJING, Feb. 8 (Xinhuanet) -- A cargo vehicle collided with a train at a section of the Beijing-Guangzhou Railway artery near Leiyang in central China's Hunan Province, killing two persons on the cargo vehicle.

    At 4:21 a.m. Wednesday, a cargo truck cracked off highway bridge guardrail of Beijing-Guangzhou railway, fell down and collided with the running N714 passenger train, two people including the truck driver were killed, and no casualty of the N714 train was reported, according to sources with the Guangzhou Railway Group.

    The truck was wedged into the lower part of the passenger train locomotive, and interrupted the Beijing-Guangzhou railway. The Ministry of Railway has initiated emergency measures for the rescue work and tried to guarantee the normal operation of the railway. Enditem
