BAGHDAD, Feb. 5 (Xinhuanet) -- The U.S. military released on Sunday 50 Iraqi detainees from U.S.-run prisons after a joint U.S.-Iraqi committee reviewed their cases.
A U.S. military spokesman said that the move came as a part of a regular review of the Iraqi detainees in the U.S.-run prisons inIraq.
The spokesman gave no further details on the move.
Sunday's release of Iraqi detainees came following a similar one last month when more than 400 detainees were released, including five women from the U.S.-run Abu Ghraib and Bocca detentions. Enditem |
