CHENGDU, Feb. 2 (Xinhuanet) -- Southwest China's Sichuan Province reported 346.2 billion yuan (43 billion U.S. dollars) of fixed asset investment in 2005, up 30.7 percent year-on-year, the local statistics bureau said.
In the past five years, the province's fixed asset investment totaled 1.16 trillion yuan (145 billion U.S. dollars), it said.
By the end of 2005, the province had an installed power generating capacity of 23 million kilowatts, 6 million kilowatts more than 2000.
Meanwhile, Sichuan Province had built 1,759 kilometers of expressway and 3,009 kilometers of railway.
The province presently has nine regional civil aviation airports. A recent expansion of the Shuangliu International Airport in the provincial capital Chengdu increased its 2005 passenger throughput to 13.9 million. Enditem |
