MADRID, Feb. 1 (Xinhuanet) -- A bomb exploded Wednesday night in the central post office in Etxebarri, in the northern Spanish region of Vizcaya, and no one was hurt, local media reported.
Prior to the detonation, Basque rebel group ETA made two phone calls to the local civil defense services, one to the highway help services and the other to the daily paper Gara, warning of the placing of a bomb in the post office.
The police received a call in the evening, but the caller did not say when the bomb would go off. Police cordoned off the area and cleared the offices of staff so that no one would be caught in the blast.
After clearing the building, police officers began a search, trying to find the device which eventually exploded. Enditem |
