Canadian pop-rock star Avril Lavigne.

BEIJING, Feb. 1 -- Canadian rock rebel Avril Lavigne says she has finally discovered fashion and wants to star in "really beautiful" ads.

The stunning singer has signed to Ford Models agency and says she's ditching her grunge image.

She said: "I'm starting to feel more feminine. I'm getting into hair and make-up and image. That's the best part of being a girl."

And Avril thinks she'd be a great model.

"I look through magazines and stare at ads and think, 'I'm not six feet tall, but I know I can do that'," she said. "I want to do those really beautiful ads with the high-end products."

Meanwhile, Avril has signed up to make her acting debut in a screen adaptation of Eric Schlosser's bestselling expose FastFood Nation.

She will share the screen with Patricia Arquette, Ethan Hawke, and Lindsay Lohan's ex, Wilmer Valderrama, among others.

The movie, based on the book which exposed secrets of the fast food industry, will be released later this year.
