PRAGUE, Jan. 30 (Xinhuanet) -- Czech President Vaclav Klaus has called an election for the powerful lower house of parliament for June 2-3, his office said in a statement on Monday.

The vote will produce a new 200-seat lower house and is likely to replace the shaky three-party coalition government led by the leftist Social Democrats of Prime Minister Jiri Paroubek.  Enditem
