BEIJING, Jan. 23 (Xinhuanet) -- The gross domestic product (GDP) of the Chinese capital Beijing reached 681.45 billion yuan, or 85.2 billion U.S. dollars, last year, a year-on-year increase of 11.1 percent, according to the municipal statistics authority.

The figure contributes to an average annual GDP growth of 11.9 percent in the national capital during China's 10th five-year plan period (2001-2005), up 2.9 percent as against the original goal, said Yu Xiuqin, deputy director of the Beijing Municipal Statistics Bureau, Sunday at a press conference.

The total output value of Beijing's agricultural, industrial and service sectors registered respectively 9.77 billion yuan (1.2 billion U.S. dollars), 210.05 billion yuan (26.3 billion U.S. dollars), and 461.63 billion yuan (57.7 billion U.S. dollars) in GDP, in 2005, according to Yu.

The per capita GDP of Beijing reached 44,969 yuan, or 5,457 U.S. dollars, last year, up 8.1 percent as against 2004.

Beijing's consumption of energy resources last year equaled to 55 million tons of standard coal, an increase of seven percent over 2004. Enditem
