BANGKOK, Jan. 20 (Xinhuanet) -- Thailand and Chile on Friday reached a bilateral cultural pact aimed at promoting cultural exchanges as well as mutual understanding between the two countries.
The pact was signed by Thai Foreign Minister Kantathi Suphamongkhon and his Chilean counterpart Ignacio Walker Prieto.
Under the five-year agreement, the two countries will cooperate in culture, archaeology, arts, literature, music, broadcasting, filming, sports and youth affairs.
The bilateral deal will take effect within 30 days once one party notifies the other, through diplomatic means, on its official endorsement of the pact.
It will be automatically renewed unless one party notifies the other in a written document six months in advance on its intention to terminate the pact.
Thailand has hammered out cultural agreements with Mexico and Peru. It plans to conclude similar pacts with Cuba and Argentina in the near future. Enditem |
