BUDAPEST, Jan. 19 (Xinhuanet) -- Rescuers have found the bodies of 16 people after the crash of a Slovak military plane Thursday in northeastern Hungary with more than 40 people onboard, a spokesman for Hungary's interior ministry said.

At least one person survived the crash on the mountainous Hungarian-Slovak border and has been sent to a hospital in Kassa, Slovakia, said Tibor Dobson.

Earlier, Milan Vanga, spokesman for the Slovak Army, said there were 48 people onboard the plane.

The AN-24 aircraft, carrying Slovak soldiers, took off from Kosovo's capital, Pristina, and crashed near the Hungarian village of Telkibanya. Enditem
