BEIJING, Jan. 16 -- In Iraq, the US military has released about 500 prisoners cleared of being involved in the insurgency.
Officials say among those released were two journalists who'd been held in Iraqi prisons for months.
The detainees were driven from Abu Ghraib prison west of the Iraqi capital to a main bus station in central Baghdad, where they were set free.
This man said he'd been held for allegedly possessing weapons. He said he had no weapons. Another freed detainee voiced anger at the government, saying there were still many other "brothers" in jail.
The two journalists released worked for the Dubai-based Al-Arabiya network and the Reuters news agency. The US military did not give an official explanation for their detentions.Enditem
