"24" kicks off new season, Bauer is alive
www.chinaview.cn 2006-01-16 16:46:05

    CAST OF CHARACTERS

    Here's who's back and who's new for Season 5:

    Returning

  • Chloe O'Brian (Mary Lynn Rajskub)

Full-time computer geek and part-time Rambo-ette, Chloe has become a breakout character. This year, she's Jack's closest ally.

  • Kim Bauer (Elisha Cuthbert)

She's baaaack. Yep, after a Kim-less Season 4, Jack's clueless daughter returns. The producers promise that this time around, she won't take on a cougar.

  • Tony Almeida (Carlos Bernard)

A former CTU agent, Tony helped Jack go missing last season. Now he's running a private security agency with wife Michelle Dessler (Reiko Aylesworth), but both get pulled back into Jack's orbit.

  • Audrey Raines (Kim Raver)

Jack's main squeeze last season -- until he let her husband die on an operating table. She's more than a little surprised when Jack turns up alive.

  • President Charles Logan (Gregory Itzin)

The Oval Office wimp who stumbled into the presidency last season. He's still indecisive and venal in Season 5.

    Incoming

  • Martha Logan (Jean Smart)

The first lady may be mentally unstable, but she's still a whole lot smarter than her husband.

  • Vladimir Bierko (Julian Sands)

This season's resident bad guy (at least at the start), a billionaire-terrorist trying to sabotage a Russian-American treaty.

  • Christopher Henderson (Peter Weller)

Jack's former mentor in counterterrorism -- who may or may not be an evildoer.

  • Lynn McGill (Sean Astin)

A hobbit running CTU? You bet, as Astin plays a cocky, ambitious young bureaucrat.

  • Diane Huxley (Connie Britton)

She's a single mom who takes in Jack without having a clue about his background or that he's on the lam from the feds, the Chinese and all kinds of other government types. She thinks he's just a oil worker named Frank. Diane, you are soooo wrong.
