JERUSALEM, Jan. 14 (Xinhuanet) -- Electroencephalogram on Saturday showed activity in Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's both brain lobes, local newspaper Ha'aretz reported on its online edition Saturday.
Sharon has responded to pain stimuli in both sides of his body.
But the daily quoted officials at Jerusalem's Hadassah hospital where Sharon is being treated as saying that Sharon was still in serious but stable condition.
The report added that there was no expansion of ventricle walls after the removal of a drainage catheter.
On Friday, Sharon was not showing any signs of regaining consciousness, although doctors have been trying to get him out of an induced coma by lessening the dosage of the sedatives since Monday.
In order to decrease Sharon's intracranial pressure, doctors brought Sharon into heavy sedation since last Wednesday's massive stroke and cerebral hemorrhage.
Doctors said Sharon continued to be hooked up to a respirator, although he was breathing on his own.
Sharon was admitted to Hadassah hospital 10 days ago and has remained in critical but stable condition despite slight improvements for the past few days. Enditem |
