XIAMEN, Jan. 14 (Xinhuanet) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao said he welcomes more Taiwan compatriots to do business in the mainland, when meeting with representatives of Taiwan businessmen here on Saturday.

Hu made the remarks during his visit to a Taiwanese investment zone in Xiamen, a coastal booming city in east China's Fujian Province, saying that cooperation between Taiwan and mainland businesses benefits the people across the Taiwan Straits.

"The mainland people are willing to provide various help and services for the Taiwan compatriots," the president said. Enditem
