BEIJING, Jan.11 (Xinhuanet) -- Two Chinese people,
previously reported sickened by bird flu, have died, the World Health
Organization said Wednesday.
The deaths occurred in a 10-year-old girl from the Guangxi region, reported on December 7, and a 35-year-old man
from Jiangxi Province, reported on December 16, said Roy Wadia, spokesman of
WHO's Beijing Office.
"This does not mean that human infection of bird flu
is out of control in China," said Wadia. "But it's a warning reminder that it is
a very serious disease." Enditem |
