China supports settlement of Iranian nuclear issue through talks
www.chinaview.cn 2006-01-10 22:54:18

BEIJING, Jan. 10 (Xinhuanet) -- The "best solution" to the Iranian nuclear issue currently is through talks between Iran and the three European Union (EU) nations, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Kong Quan said a routine news conference here Tuesday.

China hopes the talks can resume and make progress, Kong said, adding that China has maintained close contact with the various parties concerned to push forward the talks.

China has always advocated properly settling the Iranian nuclear issue within the framework of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Kong acknowledged.

The EU-3 partners refer to Britain, France and Germany.

The talks have been stalled after Iran recently announced its resumption of uranium-enrichment activities. Enditem
