BEIJING, Jan. 10 -- A book that provides the detailed information of 90,000 enterprises in Beijing are sold at a high price in a speciality shop known for selling the lists of business owners, executives and officials, one Beijing newspaper reports.

    The book provides names of enterprises, bosses' names, office phone numbers, addresses and along with their registered capital and staff number.

    According to the bookstore assistant, the store can not only provide customers with the book list of the public organizations, they can also offer book list of top officials including the finance officials or even the officals' personal infromation from the State Council, China's highest governing body.

    The book is supposed 80 percent credible. They gathered the information in a general survey of 15 million enterprises and institutions in China, the assistant noted.

    The reporter tried two phone numbers at random, both are correctly connected for the receivers said the officials they wanted were just out.

    Why don't people just call directory assistance 114 to ask for information about enterprises and government departments?

    It can only offer information about the main telephone number of the units, and often inquirer can't directly get through to the business oweners and the officials or find out the person's full name.

    Those trying to do business with the enterprises or having some personal affairs to conduct with the officials might find the information in the book useful, the assistant said. Enditem
