ZHENGZHOU, Jan. 9 (Xinhuanet) -- Police have detained the suspect who was charged with plotting a bus explosion which killed 11 people in Yanling Township of central China's Henan Province on Dec. 23, local police source said.
He Shiya, a repair worker, gave Liang Penglei, a man from Anling County of Yanling Township, explosives and asked him to place the explosives on the long-distance bus on which He's wife was aboard.
The blast killed 11 people, including He's wife, and injured another three seriously.
Investigators found out later that Liang, 23, had frequent contact with He before the blast, but Liang disappeared after the accident.
Further investigations indicated that He, who was capable of making detonation devices, was the chief plotter behind the scene. He had employed Liang to get rid of his wife so he could marry his mistress, and killed Liang afterwards to cover up his own criminal deeds.
Articles for making the detonators were found in He's home and according to his confession, local police found Liang's body in a motor-pumped well on Jan. 2, the police source said. Enditem |
