BAGHDAD, Jan. 9 (Xinhuanet) -- At least seven Iraqi policemen were killed and 35 others wounded when two suicide bombers struck the Interior Ministry in eastern Baghdad on Monday, a ministry source told Xinhua.

"Two suicide bombers blew themselves up at the entrance to the Interior Ministry at about 12:05 p.m. (0905 GMT)," the source said on condition of anonymity.

The attack took place near a parade to mark the 84th anniversary of the Iraqi police foundation.

The ceremony was attended by Interior Minister Bayan Jabr Solah, Defence Minister Saadun al-Dulaimi and US ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad, the source said. Enditem
